Call for application/nomination

The Council of Written Media of Kosovo, as a member of the regional partnership of civil society organizations which manages the Investigative Journalism Award, announces a competition for the awards for:

Investigative stories published in the period January 1 – December 31, 2016, which report on social issues related to the abuse of power and fundamental rights, corruption and organized crime in Kosovo, which would not have been made known to the public in some other way.

 

 

Stories published or broadcast in any type of media in Kosovo can be nominated for the EU award: print media, radio, television, online or combined media.
A journalist or group of journalists can be nominated for the award. The competition is open to professional journalists who have any kind of work or engagement in the media (eg full-time employees, freelancers, self-employed, or similar).

 

Investigative stories published or broadcast in the media in Kosovo (for the public of Kosovo in official languages, minority languages or international languages) can be nominated for the Investigative Journalism Award.
Nominations for investigative stories published in the media of Kosovo (for the public of Kosovo in languages that are not official in Kosovo must be accompanied by the translation in the official language of the country.
The award fund in Kosovo for 2017, (for achievements in 2016), is 10,000 euros.
The three best nominations will be awarded.

 


The amount of the reward is between 3000 and 5000 euros.
The prize for the subcategory ‘best investigative story by young journalists’ is 3000 euros.
