The Press Council of Kosovo (PCK) in its regular meeting reviewed a total of 13 complaints. The members of the PCK Assembly decided to partially approve five of them, reject four, declare three complaints inadmissible and one time-barred.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The complaints concerned allegations of violations of certain chapters of the Kosovo Press Code, namely Chapter II – Reporting the Truth, Chapter IV – Right to Reply, Chapter V – Persons Involved in Incidents, Accidents, Arrested or Accused of Criminal Offenses and Chapter VII – Privacy and Protection of Sources.<\/p>\n

The Press Council of Kosovo has partially approved Vudi Xhymshiti’s complaint against Gazetametro.net for the article titled “Vudi Xhymshiti receives forged documents to attack Ambassador Grenell”, finding that chapters II and IV of the Kosovo Press Code, which deal with reporting the truth, namely the right to reply, have been partially violated.<\/p>\n

The Press Council of Kosovo has partially approved the complaint of Limit Project L.L.C. and Lulzim Zaraj, represented by Lek\u00eb Morina against Voxkosova.com for the article titled “Reference file: Fitore Pacolli’s Ministry awards a tender of 1 million euros to the company that had deceived the Ministry of Agriculture”, finding that Chapter V of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with the presumption of innocence, has been violated, but not Chapters II and IV, which deal with reporting the truth, namely the right to reply, as the complaining party claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has partially approved Arb\u00ebrie Nagavci’s complaint against Insajderi.org, Voxkosova.com, Gazetametro.net, Sinjali.com and Gazetaexpress.com for the article titled “‘Houses in the area where they cost over 250 thousand euros, were bought for 150 thousand’ – Former councilor raises suspicions of bargaining by Arb\u00ebrie Nagavci at the end of the mandate'”, respectively other articles with similar titles and content, finding that Chapter IV of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with the right to reply, has been violated, but not Chapter II, which deals with reporting the truth, as the complaining party claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has partially approved Besnik Berisha’s complaint against Nacionale.com for the article titled “The government’s scandalous attack on media discipline, the IMC seized by VV fines T7 and Klan Kosoven thousands of euros”, finding that Chapter IV of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with the right to reply, was violated, but not Chapter II, which deals with reporting the truth, as the complainant claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has partially approved Ilirjana \u00c7ollaku-Tafa’s complaint against Insajderi.org for the article titled “After Insajderi’s reports on suspicious closure of cases, prosecutor Ilirjana \u00c7ollaku-Tafa resigns”, finding that Chapter IV of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with the right to reply, was violated, but not Chapter II, which deals with reporting the truth, as the complainant claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has rejected Ruzhdi Saramati’s complaint against Kojshia Show for the episode of the show titled “Dritan Goxhaj: This KLA commander killed his soldier in front of us. Here’s who he is”, finding that Chapter II of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with reporting the truth, was not violated, as the complainant claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has rejected the complaint of Rilind G\u00ebrvalla against Veriu,info, Kosova.info, Voxkosova.com, Indeksonline.net and Nacionale.com for the articles with the titles \u201cJeta Statovci’s brother is removed from the position of chief cameraman at RTK! Is it political revenge?\u201d, \u201cRevenge begins against Jeta Statovci? Her brother is removed from the position of chief cameraman at RTK\u201d, \u201c’What happened today is more serious than political revenge’, Jeta Statovci reacts after RTK removed her brother from the position’\u201d and \u201cRevenge? Jeta Statovci’s brother is dismissed from the position of chief cameraman at RTK\u201d, concluding that chapters II and IV of the Kosovo Written Media Code, which deal with reporting the truth, respectively the right to reply, have not been violated, as claimed by the complaining party.<\/p>\n

PCK has rejected the complaint of Imer Abazi, represented by lawyer Ekrem Agushi, against Klankosova.tv for the article titled “Terrible | ‘Death, bullet’, Vjosa Osmani threatened with life by two VV supporters” and the publication of the complainant’s photo, finding that chapters II and VII of the Kosovo Press Code, which deal with reporting the truth, respectively privacy, have not been violated, as the complainant claims.<\/p>\n

PCK has rejected the complaint of Dylberizm, CEL Kosova and the Sekhmet Institute against Shenjester.net for publishing a video that addresses the issue of spending public funds by civil society organizations, finding that Chapter II of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with reporting the truth, was not violated, as claimed by the complainant.<\/p>\n

PCK has declared Arb\u00ebr Emini’s complaint against Anamorava Press inadmissible, as it does not have the competence to handle content produced by pages or profiles on social networks.<\/p>\n

PCK has declared Ago Gjolaj’s complaint, represented by the ILC Law law firm, against Kosova Express inadmissible, as it does not have the competence to handle content produced by pages or profiles on social networks.<\/p>\n

PCK has declared Leotrim Vojvoda’s complaint against several media outlets inadmissible, finding that the complaining party should address the issue of the “right to be forgotten” to other institutions.<\/p>\n

PCK has declared time-barred Arb\u00ebr Emini’s complaint against Info-plus.tv, finding that the deadline for reviewing the media content for which a complaint was filed has passed.<\/p>\n
