Self-regulation of print and online media cannot be achieved without its readers. Filing a complaint against unprofessional journalism that breaches the Press Code of Kosovo, protects freedom of speech and the right to know the truth.

 

How to file a complaint?

To file a complaint, you have to make clear the media against which you are complaining, the article, and the date of publication of the article. You have to attach the copy of the article or the link if the article is published in online media.

You might ask for one of the following actions:

– the publication of the reaction

– correction of the article

– completion of the published article

– an apology

Press Council of Kosovo will review the complaints which arrive in the period of one month after the publication of the article.

 

Further procedures

The Secretariat of Press Council of Kosovo will notify the editorial office against which the complaint is made and will ask them to send a response or a justification regarding the complaint.

The Secretariat can mediate between the complainant and the editorial office against which the complaint is made in order to clarify the issue. If an agreement is not reached for the publication of the reaction, correction, completion of the published article or apology by the editorial office, the Secretariat sends the complaint for review to the Board of Press Council of Kosovo.
