The Press Council of Kosovo (PCK) in its regular meeting reviewed a total of 11 complaints.
The members of the PCK Assembly decided to approve four of them, partially approve one, declare two complaints inadmissible and two time-barred.
The complaints concerned allegations of violations of certain chapters of the Kosovo Press Code,
namely Chapter II – Reporting the Truth, Chapter IV – Right to Reply, Chapter VI – Handling of
Personal Tragedies, Protection of Children and Minors, Chapter VII – Privacy and Protection of
Sources and Chapter X – Conflict of interest.
The Press Council of Kosovo has approved Nasuf Hasani’s complaint against Sinjali.com for the
article titled “Lawyer Nasuf Hasani’s license is revoked – audios are published where he is heard
severely criticizing the Chamber’s staff”, finding that chapters II, IV and X of the Kosovo Press
Code, which deal with reporting the truth, respectively the right to reply, respectively the conflict
of interest, have been violated.
The Press Council of Kosovo has approved Nasuf Hasani’s complaint against Indeksonline.net
for the article titled “Lawyer Nasuf Hasani’s license is revoked – audios are published where he
is heard severely criticizing the Chamber’s staff”, finding that chapters II, IV and X of the
Kosovo Press Code, which deal with reporting the truth, respectively the right to reply,
respectively the conflict of interest, have been violated.
The Press Council of Kosovo has approved Fjona Gashi's complaint against Sinjali.com for the
article titled "Exclusive: Filmed shooting at a party – 30-year-old turns himself in to the Prizren
Police", finding that Chapter VII of the Kosovo Press Code, which deals with privacy, has been
violated.
The Kosovo Press Council has approved Granit Çaka's complaint against Sinjali.com for the
article titled “Exclusive: Family feud in Kaçanik gets out of control – threatening messages and
drugs in the house, suspect arrested, finding that Chapter VII of the Kosovo Press Code, which
deals with privacy, has been violated.
The Kosovo Press Council has partially approved the complaint of the Cabinet of the Acting
President of the Kosovo against Klankosova.tv for the articles titled “Haxhiu removes the
Dardanian flag from the Presidential Office (Video)?” and “‘After the Dardanian flag, Albulena
Haxhiu ‘disappears’ the statue of Ibrahim Rugova from her posts? (Photo)’”, finding that
Chapters II and IV of the Kosovo Press Code, which deal with reporting the truth, namely the
right to reply, have been partially violated.
The Kosovo Press Council has declared inadmissible the complaint of Kaltrina Gashi against
Klankosova,tv, Paparaci.com and Rrafshi i Dukagjinit in Fokus, finding that the media content
for which the complaint was filed was not found, and therefore it was not possible to handle it.
The Kosovo Press Council has declared inadmissible the complaint of Ardenisa Gashi against
Klankosova,tv, Paparaci.com and Rrafshi i Dukagjinit in Fokus, finding that the media content
for which the complaint was filed was not found, and therefore it was not possible to handle it.
The Kosovo Press Council has declared inadmissible the complaint of Arbër Emini against Plus
Televizion, since it does not have the competence to handle the content broadcast on television.
The complaining party may address the Independent Media Commission (IMC).
The Kosovo Press Council has declared time-barred Besmire Kluna's complaint against
Gazetablic.com, Sinjali.com, Botasot.info, Gazetaenigma.com, Syri.net, Kosova.info and
Drenicaonline.com.
The Kosovo Press Council has declared time-barred Xhevat Mustafa's complaint against
Sinjali.com.
The Kosovo Press Council has declared time-barred Valmir Hoxha's complaint against
Demokracia.com, Nacionale.com and Periskopi.com.
