Participants from Kosovo, part of the regional academy for future leaders in the field of media education and activism, have participated in a study visit to Prague, Czech Republic.
Leonora Aliu, Butrint Avdyli and Erblinë Selmanaj, together with participants from Montenegro
and Turkey, have visited the organizations Transitions, CEDMO (The Central European Digital
Media Observatory), Europeum (Institute for European Policy) and Radio Free Europe / Radio
Liberty.
With representatives of these organizations, they have discussed the importance of professional
journalism, media activism and media education in a global digital environment. The goal of the
academy is to support young professionals – future leaders – to succeed in their respective fields.
The regional academy for future leaders is part of the “Our Media” project, whose partner in
Kosovo is the Kosovo Press Council (KPC). The first meeting of around 30 participants from six
Western Balkan countries and Turkey was held last year in Istanbul.
The regional project “Our Media: Initiative for Advancing Media Education, Dialogue and
Activism” is implemented with financial support from the European Union by partner
organisations: SEENPM, Albanian Media Institute, Sarajevo Media Centre, Kosovo Press
Council, Media Institute of Montenegro, Media Institute of Macedonia, Novi Sad School of
Journalism, Peace Institute and Bianet.
